Third World Congress on Ultrasound in Medical Education – October 10-12, 2014 – Portland, Oregon
Hosted by Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and sponsored by SUSME and WINFOCUS, the Third World Congress on Ultrasound in Medical Education in Portland attracted 500 attendees from nearly 80 medical schools and universities and 23 countries. A record number of 171 oral and poster abstracts were presented and are now available on the World Congress website. Videos of the five excellent plenary sessions are also available on the World Congress website. The first Ultrasound World Cup was a Congress highlight as 11 student teams went head to head in a competition of ultrasound knowledge and practice. Congratulations to the winning team – SonoKittens (University of Kentucky) – Jennifer Cotton, Brett Dickens, Carolyn Martinez! 24 hands-on ultrasound workshops for novices and experienced practitioners were held in the unique 65,000 square foot Collaborative Life Sciences Building which houses lecture halls, classrooms, labs, specialty research centers, offices, and simulation centers. SUSME is very appreciative of Dr. Jeanette Mladenovic, OHSU Executive Vice President and Provost, and her dedicated team of staff for their excellent work on hosting this highly successful and productive World Congress.
